    Weekly Chore: clean the kids humidifiers! 💨 (An Weekly Chore: clean the kids humidifiers! 💨 (And yours if you have one). 

A humidifier that isn’t properly cleaned will breed bacteria and mold which spreads into the room through the mist. No bueno! 

Here are the steps to cleaning it properly. You’ll find the links to the humidifier and hydrogen peroxide in my Cleaning and Links highlights.

Humidifiers are a good tool for managing and preventing cold and respiratory illness symptoms. Especially in the winter when the air is dry from the heater. The nasal and respiratory passages are lined with mucous that help trap incoming bacteria and flush it out. When the air is dry and this lining dries up with trapped bacteria, infections can happen. A cool mist humidifier can help keep things hydrated and flowing, and help thin out mucous.

Exercise is nature’s antidepressant. Serotonin is released when we exercise - literally the body’s natural version of the serotonin drugs prescribed for depression and anxiety 🤩

Free trials were my way into fitness until I became a paying fan of Melissa Wood Health and Aaptiv. 

Apple Fitness app recently launched Fitness+ - a whole new aspect to the app which has tons of workouts of all types including yoga, Pilates, core, HIIT, meditation. 

There’s a 3 month free trial which is always nice when you’re looking to add movement to your daily life but don’t know where to start or the budget to pay for it. 

A tip for free trial subscriptions: subscribe and head to your settings right away to unsubscribe. Most subscriptions will allow you to keep access to the app until the end of the trial period but will not renew it and will not charge you. We’ve all been there in the moment you realize you were charged for a free trial you signed up for and forgot to unsubscribe in time 😅

    Not too long ago I believed that the only thing to Not too long ago I believed that the only thing to do when my son was sick was to suppress symptoms by alternating Tylenol and Advil every 3 hours 💊. Not. Todayyy. 

Fever shouldn’t always be reduced and there are a few reasons why. My favorite is that fever serves a purpose. It’s there to fight whatever 🦠 is invading the body and giving meds like Tylenol/advil on repeat suppresses the body’s natural response to fight back. 

As long as baby/child is drinking and moving about or talking/playing, these are signs that you can wait and let the body do its thing! Trust you mom gut to tell you how you’re child is doing and let that be the judge of what to do next - how he/she is presenting, not the number on the thermometer.

Step by step instructions because I’m not about to make you rewatch this reel 17 times to try to see the steps you missed 😅

➡️ Settings, Accessibility, Guided Access, turn on Guided Access, set a passcode, turn on Accessibility Shortcut, set Display Auto-Lock to Never

➡️ Go to any streaming app like Netflix, YouTube etc. 

➡️ Triple click the home button (for iPads and older iPhones) or the Lock Screen side button (for newer iPhones). Enter passcode. Click on Options. Turn off all features. * You will only have to do this step the first time you set it up. From here on out, all you need to do to turn on this feature is triple-click the home/side button and click Start. 

Doing all these steps turns your phone into a screen that does not sleep or lock, has no touch function, no access to turning volume up or down, and no ability to click the home button or switch apps. 

There is nothing more annoying than a kid asking you 100x to fix the screen because they’re suddenly in Calculator, or a toddler turning the volume up to max - like can you please not thank you🙏🏻 

Most importantly, it prevents them from roaming through your device onto other shows, apps, internet etc which is paramount for their online safety. 

You can also rest assured that they won’t make any calls, send 2?&.8;7;$2 style messages to your group chats, or make purchases for questionable things. 

➡️ To stop this function and regain access to your phone simple triple-click the home/side button once more, enter passcode, and click End.

There’s only a few days left, and for those in middle of Jewish holidays the only showing that might work for you is Sunday at 11 if you’re invited or a superhero in the kitchen 😅

A few things to know:
• bring snacks and drinks (the lines are incredibly long and not worth it)
• wear warm clothing, I even brought a little blanket 
• show lasts 2 hours
• a quick stop at the dollar store for a crown and something that flashes shiny lights can prevent a meltdown when you don’t want to buy your kid a $45 flashing snowflake wand 😬

    Sunday at the zoo 🦁 About 1 hour away from Mon Sunday at the zoo 🦁

About 1 hour away from Montreal 📍you have a wonderful half day outing for the fall. @parcsafari is open until October 30th on weekends and Thanksgiving day October 10. 

At this time of year you have access to the drive through safari where you can touch and feed the animals from the comfort of your car, the zoo, a petting farm, some rides, and a few shops/food. You can even sleep there overnight if you’re that much of an anima lover 😅 the little cabins are new and so cute. 

Sundays are interesting for me because I’m alone with the kids so I either tough out everyone’s boredom at home or take the kids on adventures!

    The way my heart just bubbled over watching this v The way my heart just bubbled over watching this video of David today… to me that’s what it feels like to be a mom. These are the moments I live for. Hours and hours of challenging care and work, for small pockets of moments like these that make my heart feel things I can’t describe. 

Watching my kids discover the world is one of my greatest joys as a parent. Life is so fast paced, we often fall into the role of keeping our kids fed and clothed and just blur from one task to the next in between. 

But no. This time does disappear so fast, if we don’t slow down we will miss it. And I can argue that this exists at any phase of childhood and adolescence our kids go through. It’s never too late to slow down and BE there to enjoy your child, at any age, not just to “keep them alive”. 

Most of my @beingmaman mom gang have young kids and are really in the thick of it all, like I am now. We need this reminder the most. We are exhausted, busy, physically and mentally sucked into the mom life around the clock. We need this reminder the most. 

This reel soundtrack has been criticized for making moms anxious about not enjoying their kids because they’re too overwhelmed. I believe the opposite. The truth is hard to hear, but it can snap us out of a rut. If this audio triggers you, think why? If you’re overwhelmed and feel badly about not enjoying your kids, how can we change that for even 1 minute in a day? Why wouldn’t we want to achieve that? 

I’d be hard pressed to find many moms that are brimming with joy about all aspects of parenting. It’s ok to not like it sometimes. It’s okay to like some parts and not others. What we don’t want is to forget to LOVE some parts of being a mom. To REVEL in some parts of being a mom. We just have to slow down to see these moments for what they are. 

We do SO much, it’s only fair that someone reminds us to stop and reap the benefits of our hard work ♥️

Here is how I prep to wash the stroller parts. 

I then throw it all in the washing machine on a regular cycle. Air dry everything and reassemble!

My babies spend lots of time in their strollers. Their skin goes directly onto the fabric and both have at some point or another tried to eat various parts of the stroller 😳

That’s why I like to use non-toxic cleaning products and detergent like @branchbasics to clean/wash their stuff 💦

So here is a choppy tutorial on how to disassemble your stroller prior to cleaning all while holding your baby and answering toddler questions 😅
